Summer in Cats Hollow – and the Strawberry Season Is Coming to an End

Summer is in full swing, the weather has been consistently warm and beautiful, and what could be better than spending time outdoors and soaking up the sunshine? Our town offers plenty of activities to make the most of the season. Whether you enjoy swimming, boating or sailing, our direct access to the sea means there is no shortage of seaside fun. Our beaches are clean, the water quality is excellent, and whether you prefer the beach or the pool, there’s guaranteed summer enjoyment for visitors of all ages.

At the moment, Cats Hollow offers two public beaches, a public swimming pool and a small public swimming pond, all waiting to be enjoyed. At the beach you’ll also find a volleyball court, and our beach restaurant is looking forward to welcoming you.

Affordable Family Glamping in Cats Hollow

Just a short walk from the Vintage Beach and public pool, you’ll find our cosy family glamping area. Two spacious tents provide a comfortable place to relax, while a barbecue area and a large communal dining table invite everyone to enjoy time together. There are also several play opportunities for our youngest visitors. Within easy walking distance you’ll also find the Strawberry Festival, which is still running for a few more days, as well as the Family Barn with its large playground, cat art exhibition and café.

Like many things in Cats Hollow, staying here is completely free of charge, although we always appreciate a small tip. If you have any special requests for your stay, simply contact me in-world and I’ll happily provide things like a baby cot or a floatie. Better Services for Our Residents

The laundrette and the bike shop have swapped locations. The reason is quite simple: the homes in Cats Hollow Heights have less space for washing machines than the larger family homes in Cats Hollow Community. Those larger homes will each receive their own washing machine over the next few days.

Residents of Cats Hollow Heights won’t have to compromise on comfort or convenience. The laundrette is only a few steps away from every house and is located right next to the Mercantile grocery store. Meanwhile, the bicycle workshop has moved into the former laundrette building and now offers new and pre-owned bicycles, as well as repairs, servicing and maintenance.

Society News

We’re delighted to announce that Mr Geoff Beery has moved in with his partner, Georgianna Bailey, making him our newest resident. A very warm welcome to Cats Hollow! Naturally, as your local reporter, I couldn’t resist paying the happy couple a visit to take a photograph.

Book Club Meets Every Fourth Thursday of the Month

Last Thursday, four enthusiastic readers gathered in the newly redesigned reading garden outside the bookshop to chat about their favourite holiday reads and exchange book recommendations. The afternoon was filled with laughter and friendship. Lemonade and biscuits were served (both have now completely disappeared, by the way), and everyone agreed that July’s gathering was especially lovely. Because of the holiday season, it was once again an open meeting without a fixed reading theme.

The Cats Hollow Rental Service would like to let you know that Apartment 03 at Maison Miaou is now available and ready for its next resident. The apartment is fully furnished and rents for L$150 per week. The new tenant will also have 50 additional prims available for their own decorations. As an added bonus, the apartment comes with exclusive access to a spacious private skybox at no extra cost, offering additional privacy whenever you need it. Rentals are handled via the mailbox located outside the apartment door.

Dveliande opened the doors to her beautiful floral empire, while I photographed a quiet moment in the reading garden just before the Book Club began.

Paw & Order – The Weekly Police Report
Dramatic Scenes in Cats Hollow Heights

Last Sunday, Cats Hollow’s High Angle Rescue Unit was called to the Mercantile after reports that a young kitten had climbed onto the roof and couldn’t find a way back down. The daring climber turned out to be young Arnold, who appears to have reached that adventurous stage of kittenhood where everything seems like an excellent idea. As officers arrived, they could already hear anxious calls and the pitiful meowing of the tiny delinquent from quite some distance away. A ladder was quickly placed against the building, and Officer Reginald Fluffington personally climbed onto the roof to rescue the little kitten. To the applause of the gathered crowd, Arnold was safely returned to the ground and reunited with his rather distressed mother. Thankfully, all ended well once again, and the Gazette would like to thank our police department for their outstanding work. Update: During a later interview, young Arnold explained that he hadn’t really thought anything through and had simply climbed onto the roof „for the view.“
