Children draw it before they can explain it. Lovers borrow it for promises. Artists turn it into colour and stone. Somewhere along the way, it becomes a small container for everything we struggle to put into words.

I sometimes wonder whether our hearts are less interested in people than they are in moments. They collect fragments with remarkable patience: a familiar scent, an unexpected silence, the warmth of late afternoon, a conversation that lasted longer than planned.
