Weekly Meow – What’s New in Cats Hollow?
It’s Wednesday once again, and a brand-new edition of the Cats Hollow Gazette has just been published.
Cats Hollow Is Getting a New Town Hall
Until now, I’ve rather neglected our resident services and dealt with them more as an afterthought. That’s about to change. The rather uninspiring old building has now been replaced by a lovingly restored Town Hall on the very same site. Our Rental Service has already moved in, and over the coming weeks it will be joined by a public library with archives, a registry office, the Mayor’s Office and a Citizens‘ Service Centre. In the future, a wide range of services will be available here, many of them working hand in hand with our website. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on what’s coming next. The Strawberry Festival Is Coming to an End
Since mid-June we’ve enjoyed this wonderful town event, happily picking, buying and eating strawberries (and perhaps a few have mysteriously disappeared… the police are still keeping quiet about the official figures). We’ve celebrated the humble strawberry in every possible way. Sadly, the festival will soon be coming to an end. The pumpkins are already waiting in the wings… no, only joking — not just yet!
There’s still time to visit the festival grounds, explore everything on offer and take home a little souvenir. You can pick up a free strawberry balloon, and with the season drawing to a close, fresh strawberries are now available at bargain prices. Something Is Happening at the Art Plaza
Things have been rather quiet around the Manoir Musa Art Gallery in the heart of Cats Hollow for quite some time. Over the past few days, however, several residents have reported hearing unusual noises coming from inside the building — naturally, only outside quiet hours. Rental of the Week
Nestled in the charming Magnolia Beach neighbourhood, right beside a peaceful hangout area and the local dock, you’ll find this week’s featured rental. The house comes with its own private beach, an open-plan kitchen and living area, one bedroom and a smaller room that would make a perfect nursery or home office. It can be rented furnished or unfurnished for L$250 per week. Stay for four weeks and you’ll receive three extra days free of charge, and the prim allowance is negotiable.

Society Notes
Congratulations to Sir Arthur Murphy and Mrs Lottie Fluffington-Murphy on their marriage. The intimate ceremony took place in Cats Hollow last weekend, and the happy couple have now settled into one of the townhouses in Cats Hollow Community. Perhaps it’s time to start thinking about a baby bonus… but we really shouldn’t speculate. We wish the newlyweds every happiness for the future.
Book Club Meets This Week
As scheduled, the Cats Hollow Book Club will gather on the fourth Thursday of the month, which means Thursday, 23rd July at 5:00 AM SLT. We’ll be meeting in the garden of Georgianna’s Cozy Reading Nook for another relaxed get-together, this time chatting about our favourite holiday reads. Do you have a book that always finds its way into your suitcase? Come along and tell us all about it! Police Report
Officers responded to three minor incidents this week, including a complaint about an unusually lively group of ducks near the village pond, a bicycle left unattended outside the Mercantile, and the ongoing search for Henrietta, who remains missing. All matters are considered under control, and Cats Hollow continues to be a remarkably peaceful place to live.
Early 19th Century – Lanikaverse Photo Challenge
Before I sign off for this week, I’d like to invite all my friends from Cats Hollow to take part in a brand-new Lanikaverse photo challenge. This time, we’re taking a trip back to the early 19th century. Whether you choose a Regency-inspired outfit, a romantic landscape, or an elegant historical scene—there are so many wonderful ways to interpret this fascinating era. Aside from the theme and the standard Lanikaverse “NO AI” rule, there are no strict guidelines—just let your creativity guide you. The best entries will be rewarded with exclusive prizes designed specifically for this challenge. I’d be thrilled if some familiar faces from Cats Hollow would join in.
