I strolled aimlessly from one corner to another. I looked at flowers that needed no looking at. I sat down on the swing and remained there, lost in thought and swaying – considerably longer than common sense would have advised. And yes, the hopscotch squares did their job.

At some point, I realised that several hours had passed.
Did I mind? No. After all, the afternoon had passed so pleasantly that it seemed ungrateful to ask where it had gone.
Whatever had originally led me there would obviously survive my absence.
The cat seemed absolutely convinced of that. And I have long since learned that it is unwise to argue with a cat.
