Of all the breathtaking landscapes and regions throughout the world of Second Life, the New England Islands were among the very first places Mike and I explored together. We were immediately captivated by the beauty and atmosphere of the area, so much so that we rented a house there almost straight away and spent a wonderful time enjoying island life.

Although we eventually moved on, this charming corner of the Blake Sea, with its idyllic little islands, has remained one of my favourite destinations to this day.

When I tried on Lilleth’s lovely Windy Dress, I noticed a colour option in the HUD that lent itself perfectly to a nautical look. Instantly, I knew there was only one place where I wanted to photograph it: New England.

So I returned to Marblehead, the heart of the New England Islands – a delightful little town filled with picturesque shops, charming photo spots and a beautiful harbour where sailing boats gently sway at their moorings. From here, you can set off by boat to explore the many surrounding islands, each with its own unique character.

If you decide to visit, I highly recommend turning your sound on. The gentle waves, the wind and the creaking boats add so much to the experience. Every time I come here, I can almost feel the sea breeze on my face and sense the quiet freedom that lies somewhere beyond the horizon.
