We’re part of quite a large family, and recently the number of sisters has grown a bit because we’re just lucky enough sometimes to meet people who match our own madness (yes, even in Second Life), who are friendly and open-minded, share similar interests, and are the sort of people you just want to have around for a long time. We decided it was time for a sisters’ photo and gathered together in a garden in Cats Hollow for this lovely picture. A bit like the Bennet sisters, aren’t we? That resemblance also inspired the caption I used (and yes, I know the Bennets only had five daughters, a fact I simply ignored).
It has long been a well-known fact that life is much easier to cope with when tackled together – especially when it comes to unsuitable gentlemen, unfortunate fashion trends and the general absurdity of the world.
Of course, each of us insists on being completely different from the others, and heaven forbid anyone should confuse one temperament with another. And yet, despite all our differences of opinion, teasing, vanity and dramatic declarations, which we make at every opportunity, we remain hopelessly devoted to one another.
It is a great blessing to have sisters. They are companions for every stage of life – ready to laugh at your misfortunes, defend you in your absence, and stand by your side looking absolutely lovely.
By the way, Cats Hollow actually looks in the picture like one of those places where Jane Austen might have secretly set a summer romance — only with more cats and far sexier protagonists.
