She leans against the chair, stretches her back, lets the noise fall off her shoulders piece by piece.
The dress still feels right. That’s important. Some nights change everything. Some just need to end cleanly.

She takes a breath, smooths the fabric once, then stops touching it. Enough adjusting.

In a moment, she’ll go back. Say goodbye. Hug the right people. Leave before the music turns desperate.
