It was a calm and already sunny spring Sunday when they spontaneously decided to prepare their garden for the summer. She was someone who always liked to be prepared and had bought some seeds and small plants in advance and he had been to the hardware store to buy some gardening tools.
The afternoon started off very busy and cheerful, they prepared a large vegetable patch and of course some of their cats were there too.
Well, the situation got a little out of hand when he tried to comb her hair with the new hand rake, whereupon she thoroughly watered his feet with the watering can while she had one cat in her arms and another climbing up her trouser leg.
At one point, they decided to organise a wheelbarrow rally, which ended with her taking a selfie of his attempt to tip her into the dirt along with the wheelbarrow – which he eventually succeeded in doing, to much laughter from both of them.
As the shadows lengthened, they snuggled up together in the wheelbarrow (which he had righted again) and thought that the day could not have been better, going down in their shared history as the Sunday they discovered the joys of gardening.
