Annie and her best friends, were out to celebrate. It was her birthday, and the girls had planned a wild night out to let loose and have fun. They started the night at a trendy rooftop bar, the city skyline glowing around them. They laughed, danced, and toasted with colorful cocktails, reminiscing about old times and making new memories.

As the night progressed, they moved to a vibrant nightclub downtown. The music was loud, the bass thumping through their bodies as they danced the night away. Annie, usually reserved, felt the freedom and exhilaration of the night. She let go of her worries and embraced the moment. Hours seemed to blur as the night continued. They found themselves at an after-party in a chic loft, where the energy was still high. Annie was in high spirits, her cheeks flushed with excitement and a little too much champagne. They took silly selfies, and laughed until their sides ached.

But eventually the night caught up with her. She felt her energy dwindling and her vision became a little blurred. She realised that she was more than just tipsy and was teetering on the edge of exhaustion. Her friends noticed and decided it was time to go home. One girl called Annie’s husband Mike to pick her up. Mike had stayed home because he knew his wife needed a night out with her friends. He was glad to be able to pick her up because he was always the reliable one.

When he arrived, he found Annie giggling on the kerb with her friends, shoes in hand and hair tousled. He couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her, a mixture of amusement and affection in his eyes. „Hello, birthday girl,“ he said, kneeling down to her level. Annie looked up, her eyes shining, but she was tired. „Darling! Did you have fun without me?“ she teased, her words slightly slurred.

He chuckled and helped her to her feet. „Not as much fun as you, it seems.“ He put his arm around her and supported her as they walked to the car. The girls waved and said goodbye, promising to see each other again the next day. Mike helped his wife into the passenger seat and made sure she was comfortable before he drove home. As they drove, she leaned her head against the window and smiled contentedly. „Thanks for coming to pick me up,“ she murmured. „Always,“ Mike replied, squeezing her hand. „Did you have a good night?“ „The best,“ she sighed, her eyelids growing heavy. „But I’m glad you’re here now.“

When they arrived home, Mike carried her gently into the house, careful not to wake her too much. He laid her on her bed, took off her shoes and covered her with a blanket. Annie mumbled something incoherent, but he understood her. He kissed her on the forehead and whispered, „Happy birthday, love.“ As Annie drifted off to sleep, she felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love. The night had been wild and unforgettable, but nothing could compare to the feeling of being at home, in the arms of the man she loved.

A wild birthday
