There are few places as timeless and calming as the English countryside. With its honey-coloured cottages, winding lanes and postcard-perfect villages, the Cotswolds have long held a special place in my heart since the first time I visited. So when we came across a similar region in Second Life, my husband and I knew exactly what we had to do – go exploring.
We strolled along the village paths, studied maps like real tourists and walked through sunny, fragrant meadows while the lighthouse watched us from afar. From quiet moments at the harbour, to a photo-bombed selfie (from my favourite photo bomb), to conversations over candlelight and tea, the whole day had this dreamy sense of togetherness that is hard to put into words.
Second Life often surprises me with how much it can evoke emotions. A place like this – familiar, peaceful, a little nostalgic – turns a simple afternoon into something unforgettable. And if you can share it with your favourite person? Even better.
The special thing about this enchanting place is that it was built on the Mainland and so skilfully that it creates a perfect illusion of rural England. We couldn’t see everything and will definitely go back again. I also discovered some really affordable rentals and if I didn’t already have a great home, this would definitely be my happy place. If you want to go there too, here’s the landmark.
